The new norm? Aerial videos in Real Estate
You’re sitting in your apartment, engulfed by a sea of other cramped buildings, but isolated, and quite ready to be searching for a home. Something about having something of yours, about the space to do with as you wish. Here’s the catch, you’re online and swiping through all the pictures and you can’t get a feel for the house or area as a whole. So, visit right? — well, you can’t visit all 40 properties. Enter, the properties that have a drone-shot aerial of the home and the area, and voila, you’ve found one worthy to travel too.
The way people shop and buy in 2016 is vastly different from last decade. In business it’s understood that when consumer behaviour changes, companies do as well to stay in the game. Many people are purchasing their wardrobes, their cars, and gasp, let’s not make an exhaustive list here..
Numerous real estate agencies are now hiring personal drone pilots or companies to take a video inside the home and the surrounding area to provide an all-encompassing feel of what it would be like, if they lived there. Of course in our hyper-tech, fingers stuck-to-keyboard cultures there are things we can do on our own. We can google map it, find landmarks, see how close it is to our work – but we have to go in person or watch a video to truly understand the area. Especially when you’re considering something to become your home. With the aerial, you get to see where the property is in the context of the neighbourhood and in relation to its neighbouring homes. It’s not to say that pictures aren’t still valuable, but realtors are noticing that the initial investment in an aerial video, rewards them in the end. The amount of properties people are filtering through are aplenty, but it’s rare that anyone won’t play and watch some of the drone video. That means they’re on your property’s listing for that much longer. When we’re talking about hundreds of thousands and millions for a purchase, doesn’t a little effort and investment at the start seem worth it? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
